Effective Project Management is for Yan Bello a "universal competency".
Such is his interest and conviction of the value of this profession that since many years he is participating actively in its development and to "spread the word" about it internationally. Highlighting the Effective Project Management & Organizational Change Leadership Method/Approach (SpaceMinds® Method/Approach) he has developed and implemented in various organizations and used in numerous clients with the delivery of the SpaceMinds® Efective Project Management Competency Development Program.
Yan Bello participates actively in the activities of the Project Management Intitute (PMI®), having volunteer in thePMBOK® Guide 2004 Update Project Team, for which he has been recognized by PMI as “significant contributor” to the 3rd edition of the PMBOK® Guide, the global Project Management standard. Yan Bello has been also a Reviewer of The Standard for Program Management”. He was the president of the Spanish Translation Verification Committee for the 3rd edition of the PMBOK® Guide. He is founding-member of the PMI- Spain Barcelona Chapter and has been vicepresident from his fundation to January of 2008. From January 2008 he is a member of the "Community Development Member Advisory Group" (CDMAG). In the PM Network magazine July 2004 issue, a sidebar was publised with a column by Yan Bello (inside the article “Rise to greatness” about Project Management Maturity Models. He is certified as Project Management Professional (PMP®).
Continuous improvement and organizational maturity
Over the years, Yan Bello has dedicated himself to numerous continous improvement projects to achieve better/higher performance levels and organizational maturity for his clients. This way, he has participated in pioneer-projects introducing Capability Maturity Models (CMMI, People CMM, OPM3) as reference for continous improvement and to appraise organizatinal maturity levels.
Yan Bello is the first Spanish-speaking person acredited by Carnegie Mellon University – Software Engineering Institute as Authorized Instructor for the
“Introduction to the People CMM®” course
) and as SCAMPI Lead Appraiser for the People CMM®. Yan Bello also collaborates with Carnegie Mellon - SEI as "Visiting Scientist".
